BOOK RE- VIEWS 'T his was a mistake,’ she whispered. ‘I know,’ the boulder replied. The girl let out a shriek of terror, fumbled around in the earth and eventually rose from her sanctuary. Just as she was going to start running again, a hideous beast erupted from the clump of trees. The beast towered above the boulder, standing at least 10 feet tall. It had a lizard-like face, with a long, sinister tongue lolling out the side of his mouth. Razor sharp teeth lined his deadly jaws. Its body was covered in dry scales and bulging muscles. He then picked up the boulder and launched it at the terrified girl’s chest. Taya was knocked backwards falling onto her back with a sickening thud. The monster approached her and stared at her from above. Slimy strings of drool dripped onto the girl’s face. She squeezed her eyes shut as she awaited her terrible fate. Meanwhile in the Castle of Wellessence, Prince William sipped sweet, milky tea from a china cup. A grand afternoon tea was set out before him: mini cakes, pudding and fruit just waiting to be eaten. ‘How do you think your sister is enjoying her stroll in the forest?’ asked the King, as he reached for another piece of cake. ‘I think she is having a splendid time, father,’ William replied. ‘The fresh air will be extremely soothing for her.’ The king nodded in agreement, as he finished his piece of cake. He then rose from his seat and exited the banquet hall, leaving William alone. William lent back into his chair and sang softly to himself; *Deep in the meadow, under the willow A bed of grass, a soft green pillow Lay down your head, and close your eyes And when they open, the sun will – His pleasant melody was abruptly interrupted by a high pitched scream sounding from the forest. Her right arm was broken, leaving a trail of blood on the fallen twigs and leaves. The prickly branches tore at her blue skirt, occasionally dropping pieces of ripped silk. A ferocious roar echoed through the tall trees, causing Taya’s stomach to churn. She cried out in fear as she flung herself behind a mossy boulder. anything is possible *The song that Prince William is singing is from The Hunger Games.
