Before you Forget Julia Lawrinson In Before You Forget, Amelia is just starting Year 12with her best friend,Gemma. But things aren’t all happy and exciting in Amelia’s life. Her father is forgetting everything and it is really affecting her mum and dad’s relationship: they barely talk to each other. Art is her favourite subject, but her art teacher seems to hate everything she does, every single painting, drawing and sculpture. But when her best friend slowly stops talking to her, Amelia needs to find out why. Amelia is stuck; she doesn’t seem to have any friends at school, and at home her father is getting worse and worse by the day. Her parents’ marriage is falling apart because of it. Before You Forget is a great book that I couldn’t put down. It's very well written and very interesting as you go through Amelia’s troubled life. It was always making me wonder, even when I wasn’t reading it. I loved it a lot. Before You Forget should definitely be on your 2017 book list. Age guide: 12–15. Rating: 4 stars Book Reviews Elspeth, Year 8 Newtown High School of the Performing Arts Sydney NSW
