Olivia, Year 11 Assisi Catholic College Upper Coomera QLD r Landscape with Invisible Hand M T Anderson Walker Books F irst of all let me start off by saying I am not a science fiction enthusiast so when I first came into contact with this novel I wasn’t exactly thrilled. Without a blurb, or even a small paragraph about the author, I stepped into the world of Landscape with Invisible Hand completely blind. The first few chapters were significantly disjointed and slightly confusing, however, as an avid reader, this strange format filled me with intrigue and an even stronger desire to read and delve further into the story. In the following chapters, Anderson reveals the plot’s protagonist to be young Adam Costello, navigating his new life trapped in poverty following an alien invasion. Although hard to swallow at first, this format allowed Anderson to perfectly encapsulate relationship struggles faced by teens, especially when financial strain is a prominent factor. Overall, I highly recommend Landscape with Invisible Hand as a quirky and comedic yet thought-provoking piece, which many teens could thoroughly enjoy.
