Now, to a slight extent, flustered, she clenched her handbag and tugged it towards her. As Azalea rummaged around for an escalating period of time, she felt the eyes of those around her stare with hidden agendas. Her vain, backstabbing colleagues were on the verge of evident convulsion as their grins turned to smirks at the sight of Azalea obnoxiously shaking her purse. It was at this moment that the water mirrored her actions, displaying jolts of aggression and releasing its identity of a hidden spy. Amidst the upheaval, the ship began to sway and the surrounding water began to rise and pounce like a lion on prey. This was it, the first signal of war! The water began to strike, forcefully plunging itself in Azalea’s direction. As Azalea looked around at her colleagues whose faces told a million stories, her mindset was on the urge of a tantrum. The screams-deafening screams-from passengers at a lower level of the ship, provoked from the sound of crashing waves and sparks of lightning, sent Azalea into the mode of war. No, this couldn’t be! Azalea did not completely neglect the prospect of portraying a professional manner, as she sharply shrieked and fired comments like bullets that scattered her sniggering colleagues aside. These sniggers were soon snuffed SSHORT STORIES pine Out r OCTOBER / NOVEMBER 2017 out and substituted for silence as the sea saw its competition and grasped the opportunity to prove its horrendous dominance. As the unpredictable swelling water poured over the sides of the bow it sent the ship’s passengers into contrasting directions. The water clawed at the cruise ship and whilst this chaos continued, Azalea’s thoughts could not be shut away. Her voice could not be silenced and her prominence could not be withdrawn as she treated this unfortunate happening, a delusion.
