pine Out Daniel, Year 9 Cedars Christian College Unanderra NSW FEBRUARY / MARCH 2018 Whisper Lynette Noni Pantera Press Whisper starts out by introducing the main character, Jane Doe. The reader doesn’t know much except that she’s been imprisoned in a secret government facility and she refuses to speak. The mystery of who this girl is and why she won’t speak really drew me in. I loved the anticipation and suspense in the beginning, and found it almost physically impossible to put the book down. I also really liked the fact that Jane couldn’t quite figure out who the bad guys were. However, in the second half of the book, when everything gets explained and a basic run-of-the-mill love triangle is introduced, my interest waned a little. But, in general, I thought it was a quick, suspenseful read. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. A Court of Frost and Starlight Sarah J Mass Bloomsbury ACourt of Frost and Starlight is set months after A Court of Wings and Ruin, where Feyre, Rhys and and the Inner Circle are all helping to rebuild the Night Court. In my opinion, ACOFAS was really just the characters from the series spending their own version of Christmas together. The purpose of the book was to set up the spin off series based on Cassian and Nesta, but the book was more focused on Feyre and Rhysand, and really only set it up in the last two pages. As a novel I thought it lacked substance. It read itself more as a fluffy fanfiction than it did a prequel However, as a fan of Sarah J Mass, I found this book really enjoyable to read. It gave more insight to the universe and had a look at the impact that the events in ACOWAR had on the characters. Overall, I would give it 3 out of 5 stars Amy, Age 15 Sacred Heart College Hobart Tas SBOOK REVIEWS pine Out AUGUST / SEPTEMBER 2018 Amy, Age 15 Sacred Heart College Hobart Tas
